NBC5's Larry Collins takes a sneak peek at the new play about Amon G. “Mr. Fort Worth” Carter — AMON! The Ultimate Texan — and proclaims the Amon Carter play “excellent.”
“When you see this play you’ll have a renewed love for not only Fort Worth but for North Texas and really the state of Texas as a whole,” Collins tells his viewers. (Watch the clip.)
The play stars Kelvin Dilks at the legendary Texan media mogul. The play is directed by Connie Sanchez. Produced by Artisan Center Theater's Rick Blair. Based on a script and book of the same name by Dallas Morning News Watchdog Dave Lieber.

“There's tremendous interest in this play,” Blair says about the new production. “Amon Carter bequeathed us this wonderful city. The play shows how for half a century he led it and shaped it.”
Carter created KXAS-TV (NBC5) in 1948 as WBAP-TV. He also created WBAP-AM and ran the Star-Telegram for a half century.
